QUESTION:
When I crop an image, the grains and blurriness in the cropped image seem to increase. Any way I can avoid this?

ANSWER: Hi Rahul,
Crop tool never grains or blurs an image.
have you set any resolution or dimension for the crop tool before cropping?

can you send me the picture before and after cropping?

QUESTION: Can you tell me what the default crop settings are in respect of the resolution and dimension? I may have messed it up. The cropped image appears to be more grainier because the cropped area increases in size after cropping.

Answer
Hi Rahul,
After you select the crop tool, you see the information bar on the top, which has the values width, height and resolution.

If you want to crop just as per the image and then click on 'clear' button to erase the settings.

If you want to specify size, then make sure that any of the values (width, height & resolution)are not greater than the current working image's dimensions (you can check my going to the menu Image>Image Size..)

Eg. If your working image has a resolution 72dpi, and if the crop settings has more than 72 (100, 300 etc) then your picture gets smudged.

Do let me know if u need further assistance.
