Question Hello Kevin,
I have a pdf camera ready ad for print from client at an overall 300dpi. There are
a series of images on this page, ie: a couple fishing rods. My coworker on
holidays, noted on the hard copy that the 2 rod images were of 176 & 226dpi
respectively. Should be 300. How did he check this on a flattened pdf submission
that reads 300dpi overall? We use photoshop CS3.
thanks
Dianne
Answer Hi Dianne,
Even though your document image size is 300, the lower res images placed in the file will still appear low res. 226 is not that bad, 176 can be hit or miss. I would pull a proof and see how they look. Placing low res into a higher res doc does not magically make them ok.
Your printer has applications that can preflight documents and pdfs and target problem issues for you. Id be grateful that my printer caught this issue before it went to press. Don't look a gift horse kind of thing.
