Adobe Photoshop/saving a photoshop file in CYMK
Expert: Huma Riaz - 4/2/2008
QuestionHi Huma,
I've been using photoshop for a number of years now, but almost entirely for web use. However, I now need to use it for print. I also have Illustrator that I'm not that well versed in.
If I want to send a photoshop file (for a business card) to the printers and they need it in a CYMK format, how do I best do that? And also, how do I make sure they print the exact color I am wanting?
Thanks for your help.
Michael
AnswerHiya Michael,
The best for color is to use pantone or any color library your printer may accept. so that you just have to give them a code only and they will follow it.
for the business card, although you can get it done in PS as well, but better if you make the card in illustrator for better results, you can only import the logo or maybe graphics from PS if needed. the reason behind is the PS has resolution issue, and business cards are something that can be done best in vector graphics.
Hope this will help, feel free to ask anything further
