Adobe Photoshop/Color problems galore

Question
QUESTION: Ok so I'm half way through a project and suddenly my colors are all screwed up. My reds are pinks... etc.

When I attempt to change the color of a font for example, it forces a change all on its own. Such as; in web colors only I select red (ff0000) and it automatically changes it to the color directly to its left (ff3333).

I'm pretty confident I didn't change anything but there's a possibility.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Corey.

ANSWER: Hi Corey,

You should never use web colors only. They force your color palette into a very limited scale. If you are going to web, you should be using RGB instead of web only colors. Uncheck the box at the bottom of the window.

Thanks

Kevin

QUESTION: Thanks for replying, but that wasn't the problem.

When I choose the red indicated a alert comes up saying "out of gamut for printing". This has never happened before and photoshop automatically chooses a color "close" to what I want, but it's not close enough.

Any ideas?

Answer
Hi Corey,

If it says out of gamut for printing, are you in the CMYK Color mode? You should be in RGB mode.

If you are in RGB and it is still changing, go to edit>color settings and make sure you are using the preset for North American General Purpose. There could be a preset change that is converting them as well.

Thanks

Kevin
