Question
Hi Kevin,
I am a photographer and I have 100 photos saved in a folder on my computer, is there a way for me to take that folder and resize everything in it all at once.

I am working on a project that has been so time consuming having to resize all of my pictures individually. I am sure there has to be a way, I just am not sure what it is.

I have Adobe Photoshop CS3 and also InDesign.

I appreciate any help you can give.

Sincerely,

Debi

Answer
Hi Debi,

You will need to use actions in Photoshop. They are recorded scripts that do automatic functions and are exactly what you need. Go to the actions palette (on the right). Open one of the photos. Click the new action button. Name it, then it will start to record everything you do. Resize your photo and then click stop. DO NOT SAVE YOUR PHOTO.

Then go to File>Automate>Batch. This will allow you to change entire folders at once. Select the action, choose the folder, and then choose save and close. Run the batch and there you go!

Thanks

Kevin
