Question
Hi-An artist sketched some pictures for me but the paint bucket tool won't fill in some of the pictures because he left spaces in the drawing-so the paint bucket is filling in the picture and the whole background too.  So I've painstackingly been going over the outline with the pencil tool. Is there another tool in Elements 6 that would do that for me?    Thanks, Walter Rubin

Answer
Hi Walter,

A big brush might do the trick, then you could reduce the size and enlarge the drawing to get the edges.
If you can select most of an area with the magic wand (w), you can switch to quick mask (q) to fix areas with a brush or eraser tool and then hit q to go back to a selection to fill with the paint bucket.
I'm not sure if you can do this in elements, but you might try selecting the drawing with the magic wand and then expanding the selection to fill in the gaps, then contract the selection down to the size of the drawing, invert selection and fill.
Hope this helps you,
