I am trying to build a web page with GoLive CS2 using a layered image I made with Photoshop CS2 as a smart object using variables but when I try to insert a Photoshop smart object into the GoLive page  using  the psd file I get a log window saying "Couldn't convert file!". It does this for any psd file I try to insert as a smart object.

Since other smart objects in GoLive work, could this be a photoshop issue? I've tried reinstalling and running a repair install (I have Windows XP)but the same problem occurs. I'm not sure if this is a GoLive or a Windows issue.  Is there any way to fix this?

HI Nathan,

Well i dont know much about golive CS2, but make sure Golive supports psd format?

I am sure its not error of photoshop and windows, there must be wrong with golive check specification which extension it supports? Try to insert jpeg image in golive.
