Adobe Photoshop/Color correction in Photoshop

Question
Kevin, I recently took in your Photoshop Secrets presentation at the 08
Creative Transitions Conference.  You indicated that it is best to start your
color correction in RGB.  It made perfect sense when you explained it in the
seminar, but I did not take any notes as to why this makes the most sense.  I
would like to share this knowledge with my team and I know they will ask
"why?"  So, what should I tell them?

Answer
Hi Regina,

Photoshop cannot calculate color accurately in CMYK mode. That is why when you work in CMYK mode, some of the filters are unavailable. Keep your image in RGB as long as possible and convert at the end to CMYK if necessary. If you use the color correction method I showed, your image will be within the printable spectrum, and will not give you flat color when converted.

Thanks

Kevin
