Please specify better method, and, if possible, link to specific detailed tutorial if you know it.

Thank you.

ANSWER: Hi Alex

The image has fairly well defined edges so the quick selection tool may be your best option.

QUESTION: Hi,

I forgot to tell that I have Photoshop 7. I find no such Quick Selection tool there.

Thanks,
Alex

Answer
Hi Alex,

In Photoshop 7 you can use the extract filter to accomplish the same thing. Just trace around the people and fill in your selection and extract. I usually work on a copy of the image by selecting all and layer via copy (cmnd/cntl A, cmnd/cntl J).
