Adobe Photoshop/PHOTOSHOP UPGRADE

Question
1. I have photoshop cs, is there a way to upgrade to the newer version without necessarily having to download the whole application . i.e photoshop cs3

2. What ahould be the standard resolution to physical size of an image  that is to be printed?

Answer
Hi Leo,

The upgrade path is all up to Adobe, you can generally download small patches for minor upgrades, 10.0.0 to 10.0.1 or to update certain plug-ins or filters but the major upgrades CS2 to CS3, are generally so extensive it is better to install the app new.

The standard resolution for an image to be printed is 300 dpi at 100% size but you can get away with resolutions as low as 225 dpi. You may be able to go lower than that with soft or ghosted background images but I wouldn't go lower than 175-150 dpi.

Hope this helps,
