Adobe Photoshop/Question about light correction?

Question

Picture of Rui
Hello,

The reason I'm writing is because I don't know what to search for in help. I'm rather a basic user of Photoshop.

I have some pictures of our staff taken by a professional phtoographer. The photographer was not very good and used one side light that makes the sides of the subjects' faces look like they're sweating profusely. I'm sure there is a way to correct this. Can you tell me how?

Thanks in advance!
Sascha

Answer
Hi Sascha,

The quickest way would be to sample a bit of color from the dark side of the face with the eyedropper tool then switch to the brush tool, use a small soft brush and set the mode to color and paint some color back into the face, you can do the same with the hair.
Then you could touch it up with a dark color and the brush set to darken and low opacity (4 - 20%) and also use the healing brush for light spots such as the one in the middle of his forehead.

Hope this helps,

CommentGreat. I tried using a brush and the spot healing tool afterwards. It's not brilliant but it's good enough for the size it will be used at. Thanks!
