Question
Hi, I recently purchased a laptop w/vista. I am looking for a program to run on the laptop for photos(I am a intermidiate photographer). I currently have 4.0 and  want to upgrade to a new version.  Will adobe photoshop 7.0 run on this machine or would it be better to go ahead and buy the CS3 version which was built for vista or is there another version you would recommend for me to research?

Hi Andrea,

Believe it or not, unless you are going to do professional work consistently on your laptop, CS3 may not be worth the investment. I would go with Photoshop Elements instead. It gives you a lot of the same powerful retouching tools as the full PS CS3 and costs $99.

If you still want to go with a full pro version, you will have to get CS3, earlier versions especially 7 are too old and compatible with your OS.
