Adobe Photoshop/PhotoShop and Background Changes

Question
Hi Kamal,

I have been using PhotoDeluxe 3 and loved it. Now I can not use it because it is not compatible with my new computer with Vista. I have been trying to find a program which can combine say two birds from one photo with a background different from the original. The birds have to be 'cut-out' first and reduced to fit correctly into the new background.

This was very easy to with PhotoDeluxe. Just open the bird photo, go to 'Smart Wand' which cut out the bird quickly because you did it automatically. Then go to 'Collage' and drag the two photos together and adjust size just by dragging the corners. That was it! Can you help me to do this with PhotoShop 7 or some other program?

Thank you and Regards, Ken.

Answer
Hi Ken,
'Magic Wand' in Photoshop is something similar to the Smart Wand, for more accurate and custom selections "lasso tools" are perfect.

Check this link for detailed explanation on how to use these tools.
