QuestionQUESTION: i have adobe cs2 and it was working ok but i now have a problem saving files. once i take a jpeg file into cs2 and edit it. i then try to save as a jpeg. if i try to rename the file for example to 01 25.01.09 01 it will not save as a jpeg it just saves it as file. but if i renames it 1 or 1b it will save as a jpeg. i am not sure what has happen or how to solve it. hope you can help
ANSWER: Hey Dave,
By default in a file name, anything after a '.' is assumed as the file extension.
if u have to have '.' in your file name then, while saving add '.jpg' at the end to force it to save as a jpeg file.
example: 01 25.01.09 01.jpg
Hope this helps.

QUESTION: thanks for that the thing that is confusing me is i used to be able to add any named jpeg tp photoshop edit it and re name it without having to add the jpeg or scroll before the jpeg to rename it. i could just highlight the old name and type in what i wanted ie. 02 03.03.08 54 and it would save it as a jpeg file. is there something that has changed on my pc that i need to change again to be able to do this. i do appreciate you help. thanks.
AnswerHey Dave,
Here's what has changed in your pc.
Open Window Explorer
go to tools > Folder Options
go to 'View' tab
scroll down a little and check "Hide extensions for known file types"
Press ok to apply the changes.
Now you can name and type the way u wanted like earlier.
Let me know for further assistance.
