Adobe Photoshop/installing plug-ins

Question
Hello I am trying to install several  plug-ins filters that I have downloaded. Would you please tell me how to install the plug-ins into the Photoshop program.

Answer
Hi Lenny,

There is typically a plug-in folder under your main Photoshop installation folder. Many plugins can be copied or placed there, but many more will have some kind of installer application that sets them up for you.

Depending on your version of Photoshop, and what kind of plugins you are using, the method will be slightly different.

Also, filters are specific instructions, not actually plug-ins. Filters are typically just copied into the appropriate kind of filter folder, which is usually under the Plugins folder. Check the sites where you found the downloads for more specific instructions, or write me back with some details:

Your version of Photoshop
Your operating system
Links to some of the download sites

If you can provide this information, I'll see about getting you some detailed instructions.

Cheers,

-Scott
