Adobe Photoshop/printing

Question
Hello Glen,
thanks for listening. I print on an Epson 9800 from my Mac OS X 10.4.(Adobe elements 2) My prints were bang on using the automatic button or colorsync but yesterday the prints were paler and not as usual. I replaced new inks and cleaned heads but still no difference. Tried all things in my amateur way but no change in the prints. Thanks again. Arnold

Answer
Hi Arnold,

We have Epson 7800 and usually when this happens, holding down the menu/cleaning button for three seconds to clean the inkjet nozzles helps. If this doesn't help after 2 tries then it could be a mechanical problem and you'll have to contact Epson.
If that doesn't work then it must be in the software. Not knowing what RIP your using or being that familiar with Elements, I can only guess but make sure you are using the same color mode and output profiles in Photoshop and your color settings in the print driver are the same. Color on the Epson is determined by the software and you might try reinstalling your printer driver or trashing the preferences file.

Hope this helps,
