Adobe Photoshop/Adding on to a picture

Question
I'm trying to add a picture to my website builder.  It wants the pic to be 850x190 pixels.  I cannot crop the picture to these dimensions without eliminating all I want to see in the picture.

I cropped and sized my picture to 286x190.  Is there a way to add on to this picture to make it 850 pixels wide?  This would fake out the website builder into thinking I had the correct size picture.  I don't care what gets added as it will be covered by my logo and will not be seen.  Can I merge another pic to it?

Answer
850 x 190 ? That's pretty wide. Yes, you could resize your canvas to that size and then just move the image where you want it. It might look terrible once you upload it to the web site, however.

Experience

I have been teaching Photoshop in the classroom and online for almost a decade. I currently teach online at http://www.PhotoshopLearningZone.com

Education/Credentials
I am completely self-taught with Photoshop - which I believe is the best way to learn. A good book, tutorials, and experts (such as those here at AllExperts) to ask question of is the best way to understand a subject. I have been an Expert here at AllExperts in several other catgeories (MS Word, Excel, Windows, etc.) for a long time.
