Adobe Photoshop - Pixelation on the screen

Expert: Candice Anderson - 10/17/2009

Question
I am using CS3 - when I am working on a photo it looks very pixelated.  When I upload the photo to my website or flickr it looks fine and smooth.  Why is this happening?  I have Windows Vista Premium home edition - 64 bit version.

Answer
Indesign is designed to be a layout tool for your artwork. Therefore in order for the program to do it's job without being really slow, it makes jpegs and things from photoshop look funny to save space. If you want to see what it really looks like, right click on the image and choose another image quality (last option on menu). Just be sure to put it back to normal as it will slow down your computer.
