Adobe Photoshop/Printing wrong colors

Question
New laptop windows 7.  Photoshop Elements 7. Canon PIXMA MP 620 all in one printer. Printing tif scrapbook pages on glossy photo paper and black is either green, blue or purple. All new ink and they are in the correct position. I know it has to do with the color profiles, but there are so many different selections that I don't know which to select.  I am going crazy, have wasted so much ink and photo paper and nothing works.

Answer
Hi Judy,

Make sure your black in Photoshop is 100% black and 0% Cyan, Magenta and Yellow. This should come out black, if not then the printer needs to be calibrated. Follow your printer documentation for this. Once the printer is calibrated it should store it's profile in a place where Photoshop can access it.

I'm sorry, I'm not real familiar with windows or canon so I can't get more specific, but the Canon control panel should help you get calibrated.

Hope this helps,
