Adobe Photoshop/Scanning

Question
Hello Kevin, I have hundreds of slides that I started scanning but I am not sure what resolution would be best.  My plan is to put it all together with Apple's iDVD.  I would like to burn DVD's and give copies to relatives.  This brings up another question "Standard" or "Widescreen"?  I know some of the copies will be viewed on large screen, late model TV's.  I would appreciate any advice you could give me.  thanks, Clark.

Answer
Hi Clark,

When it comes to burning a photo CD or DVD, most televisions will turn the images into full screen anyway, so widescreen or not, it really wont matter. I would keep the aspect ratio for the images as is and not add widescreen bars. It will just reduce the overall size on the widescreen tv to fit.

As for resolution, most video, even high def is smaller resolution than you think. 72-150 dpi will more than suffice for scanning.

Thanks

Kevin
