Adobe Photoshop/Distorting an image to a 2-D geometrical shape

Question
Hi. I need learn how to distort a 4"x 3.6" composite image to wrap/bend/conform to an arc shape (5.2"x 3.5"), that looks like a portion of a lifesaver candy, but only 2-D. I will be printing these as decals that will be applied to tapered cylinders (shot glasses). I need to distort them so when they are applied they will appear straight. I've spent many hours trying to read my manual and search PS web sites, but I've not been successful yet. PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU CAN! (I'm using Photoshop CS on MAC OS X v10.4.11)

Answer
Hi Marianne,

I know you aren't going to want to hear this but, you may need to upgrade to CS2. Photoshop CS2 has a warp option under Edit>Transform which would accomplish exactly what you want it to do.
With CS you may have some luck using the Liquify Filter but these manipulation tend to distort the image more than the warp transform, which acts like Illustrators envelope distort.

Hope this helps,
