Question
Hello, I have a logo and it is colored with the PMS colour in photoshop but when I use it in indesign I can't get the logo to print as a pure pms colour it is broken down into cmyk which isn't useful for a 2 colour print job. Please can you help me export the true pms logo as a single colour into indesign? thank you.

Answer
Hi Nili,

You will need to create your image as a one color image (grayscale). Then go to Image>Mode>Duotone and select Monotone. Choose your PMS Color for the one color. This will change your image to the PMS color, but if you look in the channels palette it says Monotone. This will not print or import into InDesign correctly. So go to Image>Mode>Multichannel.

This will split it into a PMS channel-don't worry about the preview. If the Channel says PMS(number) then you are set. Save your image as an DCS file (Single File with Color Composite) and import into InDesign. Your PMS color will now show up.

Thanks
