Kamal, thanks for helping with my question.  I'm a newbie to the world of graphic art.  Adobe may be more horse than I need but I'm trying to find a good program for developing a logo for a site as well as additional graphics on the site AND potentially the ability to develop animated graphics for the site.  Is Adobe the right product for this type of activity?  If not do you have recommendations that better fit the bill??  thanks!

There are multiple tools to do the same work in the market. I'l list out the best tools, you can check which one fits into your budget.

Creating a Logo: Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator also Adobe Photoshop.
additional graphics on the site : Adobe Photoshop
Animated Graphics for site: Adobe Flash, Adobe Photoshop

As Photoshop falls in all the categories, i think its the best choice. Also there are so many tutorials around in the internet that will help you master photoshop.
