Adobe Photoshop/Creating a ps file type

Question
Kevin:
This is an easy question for you.
I would like to create a ps filetype for use in Acrobat 5, but have been unsuccessful. If I save a scanned document, the resultant scan is unreadable if it contains graphics and text. It must be asy, but I am missing something.

Answer
Hi Nicholas,

You can save a Photoshop file as a Photoshop PDF, which will save you a step, however if the text is unreadable it has to do more with your scan and how you are saving it. First make sure you scan it as grayscale or color, not bitmap or B&W. Second your resolution for the scan should be 150-300 dpi (ppi). When you save as a PDF, make sure you set up the compatibility with Acrobat 5. If you have presets (Im not sure what version of PS you are using) choose "High Quality Print". This will reduce file size but keep things readable.

Thanks!

Kevin
