Adobe Photoshop/Photoshop Graphics

Question
Hello  Kamal,
I have only seven weeks to had in a flash project that I'm working on and I understand that in order to keep to flash movie files size down "Vector" graphics are the preferred graphics format to use within this application.

The problem is that I'm not trained in Illustrator and am only a new user to Flash; Photoshop is the application that I usually use to create graphics. I've tried the trace option in Illustrator be to no avail and tried to use flash to covert graphics into vector again with no success. I’m desperate to generate vector graphics in order to had in the project on time

In Photoshop I've saved images in the PNG 8 file format (which is helping by reducing the file size of the PNG) in the “Save For Web Option” but with I bring the saved PNG 8 graphic into flash a very thin white line is still visible around the graphic is there any way to get rid of this, please help.

Thanks for your time

Answer

PNG Settings
Hi Ciaran,
Dont use PNG 8 instead go for PNG-24 (i assume you are using PNG because u need transparency, else go for JPEG.)

After you import the graphics in Flash.
In the Library window find the PNG graphic and right click on it for 'Properties'
and select Photo(JPEG) for compression. Also adjust the quality to the least depending on your satisfaction on the output of the image.
(I have attached a screenshot for reference)

this will defly decrease the file size.

Hope this helps
