How do I get the best results with my scanner that has 600
dpi? How can I tweak my photoshop 6 to remove the dot
pattern / screen or at least get the best results when I
try to print them. I tried jpeg and tiff files - can you
suggest best route

Hi,
Well you will have to use some filter effects in photoshop. You can use blur options to remove dot stuff in pic. Although for end users there are lot plugins in search engine which can do work for you in one click. But these will not be 100% best!. Just google for adobe plugins for resorting images.
