Question Hi Kevin - thanks for taking the time to answer my questions :-)
System: Intel i7 920
Vista Ultimate 64 bit
6 GB DDR 3 ram
Photoshop cs3 Extended
I've recently purchased a new computer system, and have installed my old photoshop cs3 onto it - no probs with installation. I have 2 issues with the running of the software though.
10 In bridge, when viewing the preview of an image, the screen doesn't seem to refresh, so i get layers of previous photos in and around/behind the current preview photo. Same with the thumbnail strip at the bottom. Happens less when the bridge window is minimised, but always when the window is maximised. I have researched chatter online about the issue, but no-one seems to know a definitive answer. I have updated the driver on my graphics card, problem still occurs. Is this an issue with my Vista 64 bit not being happy with photoshop cs3?
2) Second issue occurs within photoshop - when i'm zoomed into an image and cutting around something using the polygonal lasso tool, there is a 1 second lag/delay after clicking 1 point then going to the next, then from that point to the next, etc etc. Most annoying! I have heaps of fast RAM and a separate HDD for scratch, so this can't be the problem. Again, is this perhaps a Vista 64bit/CS3 compatibility issue?
If you have any ideas on what could be causing these problems, or perhaps know where I could go to find answers and fix the issues, I'd me massively appreciative.
Thanks in advance for you help :-) Simon
Answer HI Simon,
Yes, these are just a few of the issues that I remember from Vista, but it has been a while. The only advice I can give you is to run all your Vista updaters and all the Photoshop updates for CS3, however, this may or may not fix these particular issues.
Wish I could be of more help, but these are some of the reasons many of us downgraded to Xp again.
