Adobe Photoshop/Missing Tool
Expert: Dyllian Rancharan - 6/3/2009
QuestionQUESTION: Hello,
I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS3 and some of the tool are missing from the side toolbar such as the polygonal lasso tool, magnetic lasso tool, magic wand tool, slice selection tool, healing brush tool, patch tool, red eye tool, pattern stamp tool, burn tool, sponge tool, pencil tool, color replacement tool, paint bucket tool, horizontal type mask tool, color sampler tool, measure tool and count tool.
Is there a way for me to display this missing tool back on the toolbar? Please help me.
Thank you.
ANSWER: Hi Yusuke,
First off, is your side tool bar visible or is it only partially visible?
Try clicking on the "Window" drop down menu on your Photoshop Menu Bar and select "Tool" Toggle with this option and see what happens.
Secondly, if the tool bar is visible try switching on the two arrows that are top of the toolbar. These will bring up the tool bar as on Photoshop CS2. Maybe it is more familiar to you!
Thirdly, have you recently switched to PS CS3?
If yes then it is probably because you got used to the PS CS2 display or had it costumized to your likings. The tools you are requestions are probably still there only that you have to select them. Try these simple techniques...
On the Lasso Tool (if visible) try positioning you mouse of it and click & hold for a two seconds, an option should appear and there should be your Polygon Lasso Tool. The Magnetic Lasso tool should also be available. Try these on the other tools available and you should be able to see your missing tools, it's just a matter of costumizing your photoshop.
Let me know the outcome!
Glad to help,
Dyllian
