Adobe Photoshop/PDF to JPG Actions, Batch Convert
Expert: Candice Anderson - 6/8/2009
QuestionI've read your article posted here on creating actions and batch converting PDF to JPG files. I have created many actions (as explained by you here) and run the Batch convert with no success. The batch convert ether hangs, or the jpg files try to create copies on themselves or over wright themselves. This is becoming frustrating because you make it all sound very easy.
Help
Thanks,

Answer1. Make a new folder on your desktop
2. Label it JPG
3. Open Photoshop
4. Window, Actions
5. Record, Name the action as "Save as JPG"
4. Open one of your pdfs
5. Do what you need to do to have the dpi and color output you want
8. Save As a jpeg and Close, don't save
9. Press Stop
10. Make sure all of your pdfs are the same folder
11. File, Automate, Batch
12. Choose your action you just made
13. Source: The folder your pdfs are in
14. Destination: Your new folder called JPG
15. Errors: Press Log Errors (so it won't stop if there's a problem with just one)
Now, the problem with what you are doing is that you're opening a pdf in photoshop. That requires a extra dialog box to pop up before even opening the file. Sometimes batches don't like this.
Honestly, sometimes it's easier to just do it the long way.
And my apologies if I said something in error on the post you read...but ya it's pretty easy once you master it. Just takes a minute. Remember it's just a program with lots o bugs (thanks photoshop).
