Adobe Photoshop/J-PEG File

Question
I love photoshop, and I have Photoshop CS3. I was just asking because when I finish a drawing, I merge or flatten the files and save it as "jpeg". I want to put that drawing in a website called "DeviantART" but when I try to upload the jpeg file, it is missing. It is also missing in my Windows Explorer. I can only find the file when I open it in Photoshop, no other program. Why is this? It is very much useless if I cannot save it as jpeg. Thank you very much because this is a problem I've been trying to fix for a long time! Again, thank you!

Answer
Hi Naomi,

You should save your original drawings as tiff or .psd files. They will be bigger but you won't get the image degradation that can occur with jpg files.

Once your drawing is complete try using the File>Save for Web command. This will make a copy of your file and let you place it in an easily accessible spot on your computer and will give you more control over your file size/quality options.

Hope this helps,
