Question
When importing an image to improve, I get the the following message.Scratchbook is full. We suggest you free some space on your scratch drive before continuing.
My question is, where is the scratch drive, how do I find and free some space?

Answer
Hi George,

The scratch disk is where PhotoDeluxe store image information when it runs out of RAM. Go to File>Preferences>Scratch Disks and choose your scratch disks. Choose the hard drive with the greatest amount of free space as your primary scratch disk. It should have free memory at least 3 or 4 times larger than the image you wish to edit. Restart PhotoDeluxe.

If your computer does not have a drive with sufficient free space on it, try deleting temp files. Search for files with a .tmp extension and delete them, empty the recycle bin and restart PhotoDeluxe. If this does not create enough free space you may want to optimize your drive using the scandisk and defragmenter commands in Start > Programs > Accessories > System tools.

On some occasions your preference file may be corrupted. Locate the Prefs folder in the application folder and change the extension on the Pdxx.psp file(where xx is a number) from ".psp" to ".old". PhotoDeluxe will create a new preferences file when you restart the application.

Hope this helps,
