Adobe Photoshop/Separating multiple images from one picture

Question
I scanned multiple images into one file.  How can I separate them and save each one as a file not using cropping tool? I am using Photoshop CS3.

Answer
Hi Ernie - thanks for your question!

If all of your images are in one file, the easiest thing for you to do would be to use the Rectangular Marquee Tool (press M) to select each individual image, then copy it. You can either:

Duplicate it to a new layer within the same file (Ctrl/Cmd + J)

OR use the Copy command (Ctrl/Cmd + C), create a new document (Ctrl/Cmd + N), then paste into the new document (Ctrl/Cmd + V).

When you use the 2nd method, the New Document command creates a document based on the size of your selection, so it will fit properly.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have further questions.
