Adobe Photoshop/Watermarks

Question
Hi, I'm using Adobe Photoshop 7 and I'm trying to add watermarks to PDF files which I'm converting to images for this purpose.  If there's another way to protect my PDF's, please let me know!

So I'm opening the PDF in Photoshop, and following all the instructions on creating watermarks.  All is fine until I get to the part where the text is selected.  Once selected, I can't change the embossing or anything else, apparently because of the moving lines around the text.  However, if I click on another tool in order to deselect the text, the text disappears - totally.  No trace is left.  I read a hint that you have to apply something first, but there's nothing to apply that I can find.

We must be talking about two different Photoshops!

Thanks!
Larry

Answer
Ah. Before you do all the embossing and good stuff, you need to put it into a new layer. That way, it'll be the only thing that you are changing.

Infact, just work with the .psd. It's easier. If you are making the work in another program, just bring in the pdf with out the water mark you are selecting, then make the water mark by using the instructions that I think you are seeing.

Make sense? Let me know if you need more help.
