Question

Phone Image
Hi!

I am trying to apply the effect as in the attached file, but I can't get it. Please help to explain to me in details how to make the bottom effect of the I-phone image. I am not sure how to call it, so please follow the attached file. Sorry that I lack of knowledges. Hope you don't mind and understand what I mean. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much and best wishes!

My best regards,

LUCK

Answer
Hi Luck,

It's a reflection. Outline the object you want to reflect. While the object is selected go to Layer>New>Layer via Copy. This will put a copy of the object on a new layer. Command/Control click on the image to select it and go to Edit>Transform>Flip Vertical. Then move the flipped image into position under the original. With the flipped image still selected go to Layer>Layer Mask>Reveal Selection. Make the foreground color black and select the gradient tool and the foreground to transparent gradient. Drag the gradient tool from the bottom up to the original object to create the fade. Then adjust the layer opacity to achieve the reflected look.

Hope this helps,
