Adobe Photoshop/Photoshop Save As, Change Format Quickly

Question
I have PS2 on my PC and PS4 on my MacBook.  Using the windows system, I am able to use the quick keys ctl+shift+S then TAB to the format menu and press J to change the format to jpg.  Is it possible to do this on the Mac system?  I have been unsuccessful in doing so, since the format menu is a drop down list on the Mac.

Answer
Hi Olivia,

The only way to make a keyboard shortcut would be to create an action and assign it a function key. With a non-jpg image open start a new action and assign it a function key. Begin recording and select save as... then change format to jpg. Save and stop recording. In the action palette toggle on the dialog box so when you hit the function key the save as dialog box will appear with jpg format already selected.
