Question
I recently scan 3 word perfect documents and a picture to a
publisher for our book; page proof inclusion. The publisher
inform me to re send the materials with a 300dpi resolution.
The publisher claimed the scan materials will not look
authentic, clear or original, if sent to book print as is!

Please help. How can I convert a scan word document and picture
to 300dpi? Your expert suggestions will be appreciated.

Answer
Hi Taiwo,

You'll have to rescan the picture and set the resolution to 300dpi or higher on your scanner. If you just open the images in Photoshop and increase the resolution they will not look any better. If you no longer have access to the originals then increase the resolution a small bit at a time with "Bicubic" interpolation to achieve the best results for the image and "Nearest Neighbor" for best results on the word perfect pages.
The word perfect documents would look best if the text were placed in a page layout program. Check with your publisher to see if he is able to do this for you.

Hope this helps,
