Question
how do i change a black and white photo to colour

Answer
Hi Jitesh,

Go to Image>Mode and select RGB or CMYK to put your image into a color space. It will still look grayscale and you'll have to color it in manually.
Click on the foreground color swatch in the toolbar and select a dark version of the color you want. Select a brush and set the mode for the brush, in the toolbar across the top of the screen to "Color". This will allow you to paint your colors on the image without changing the light and dark areas.
You can also select different areas and apply color adjustment layers - a brief tutorial is here: http://is.gd/7Fn1M

Hope this helps,
