Adobe Photoshop/cropping photos

Question
Whenever I crop a photo in Adobe Photoshop the picture disappears.  It is almost like it crops so smaller.  How do I crop a photo and it not disappear?

Answer
Hi Bethany,

When you select the crop tool make sure the width, height and resolution in the tool bar are left blank so that this doesn't constrain your crop. Click on the clear button after you select the tool.

In the upper left of your photoshop window click on the crop icon so a list of presets appears. Click on the triangle in the upper right of this window to bring up a flyout menu. Choose "Reset Tool Presets" from the menu to reset the cropping tool to it's defaults.

Hope this helps,
