Hi
I recently got photoshop CS4 and having never used photoshop before I wonder if you can recommend a good book on photoshop. I pick up things very quickly so am looking for a book that deals with the basics then moves onto much more complex tasks.

If there are any websites with tutorials you can recommend, I would appreciate that.

Hi Calum,

I found the "Real World" series of books to be very informative. Real World Photoshop got me up to speed quickly and they go from basics to advanced tasks in each chapter.

Adobe used to have a nice assortment of beginner videos on their website but that may have been taken down in favor of selling video instruction.

If you're serious about Photoshop, I would recommend NAPP membership. It's $99 a year but you get Photoshop User magazine and access to a huge assortment of tutorials and their user forum, plus discounts on software, books and seminars. It is well worth the price.
