Adobe Photoshop/printing resolution

Question
Which one of the following resolutions do you use to produce a quality printed image on a press at 133 line screen?

Answer
Hi Robert,

A general rule of thumb is to have your resolution be twice the screen ruling. For a 133 line screen a resolution of 266 dpi is what you would need. Resolutions higher than this will only waste disk space and not yield any better results.

You can still get good results down to 1.5 the screen ruling or 200 dpi. Resolutions below 150 dpi should not be used unless they're for light(ghosted) background images.

Hope this helps,
