Adobe Photoshop/Layer Mask

Question
QUESTION: Hi Kevin,

I am trying to combine 2 images into one. Open the two images in Adobe Photoshop, and arrange the layers. I then Select the topmost layer and  select the Layer Mask icon at the bottom of the layers window. Then I use the paintbrush tool to select which parts of the image will be visible. Can you tell from what I told you what I'm doing wrong?

ANSWER: Hi Jayme,

I'm not really sure what your question is... It sounds like you are on the right track. What's wrong?

QUESTION: Hi Kevin,

Thank you for your quick reply. I thought I was on the right track, but it doesn't seem to be working. I was hoping maybe I was forgetting a step. If I'm not missing a step, do you have any suggestions on what would I should do?

Answer
You are not missing a step. Without seeing the image and what you are trying to so, your issue and question is too vague to answer properly. Is the mask not working? Normally when you click the layer mask it reveals all (shows the whole
Image) then you erase what you don't want.
