Recently i got a new computer at work running Vista since then when i use the lasso tool in Photoshop CS3 and im holding down the Alt key and i stop to answer the phone or something for 5 seconds it will automatically join up and its a real pain when im deep etching something and also when i hold the mouse clicker down for 5 seconds to do it freehand it will also join up. is there a setting i can click to fix this?

Hi Aaron,

There is no way to change this setting as it is not a function error from Photoshop per se. Your computer is automatically ignoring the fact that you have the button held down when in PS and it closes it off. CS3 was not meant to run on Vista, so it could be an incompatibility issue with Photoshop and Vista.

Have you tried using the pen tool or another selection tool to create a more accurate selection? The lasso tool is the least accurate of the selection tools or methods available...
