Question
Hi Kevin,

My mask tool was not working and now it is because I reset my PS preferences. I asked you a question about my type tool not working I while back and you told me, “as a last resort delete my preferences.” So I did and now they both work. Thank you, thank you.

My question now is how would they have gotten messed up in the first place? Do you have to do this to PS occasionally to clean it out? Also, if I have a problem again,  is it safe to use this reset over and over again without damaging the software?

Hi Jayme,

You shouldnt have to keep resetting your preferences. Did you heck your foreground color and make sure you were usin a white foreground and black background? Resetting won't hurt the app, but you should try to find out what you are changing that requires it.
