Adobe Photoshop/Sizing

Question
Hi Kevin.

I'm using Photoshop CS. Whenever I try to create a new project and set the sizes, the program creates a document that is larger than I specified.

Example: I'm working on a business card idea that I've sized as 3.5 x 2 inches. however, when printed (and on screen - even at 100%) it's MUCH larger. The same is true no matter what size I stipulate.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Answer
Hi Doug,

Never go by what you see on screen. Everyone's screen is different. The caveat to all of this is resolution. 3.5x2" at 300 dpi will appear much larger than if it was set to 72 dpi. Use Image>Image Size to determine the actual size including the resolution. Print should be 300 ppi, web 72.

Thanks

Kevin
