Adobe Photoshop/text in Adobe

Question
Ok, this is something i've put up with far too long.  When I add text in Microsoft Word, text looks perfect, crisp, clean, like it should.  When I add it in Adobe Photoshop, it's artifacty/jagged.  I'm obviously doing something wrong.  You can view an example here:
http://www.autographpros.com/apartnerintime/
At the top left with the black outline of the "Partners In Time" of white text and also the orange text, all comes out jaggedy.  This is not the font as I tried other fonts and the same issue.  Here is what I am doing:
CS5 Version 12.0
Create a new File
Click the T on the left side to add text.
At the top, the box "ESSENTIALS" is highlighted.
I even tried changing the size to 300 dpi and that still shows the edges to be jagged.  On the link above, the "Partners In Time" in black is how it's supposed to look.  We didn't do that, it was done by someone else.  Again, this is an issue I've had for some time and it makes no sense to me what I'm doing wrong.  Hopefully I gave clear enough information to solve this problem.  As a fellow "All Expert">  I appreciate your help.  Thank you.

Answer
Your link does not work for me. So I'm not sure what it looks like. Create a new 300 dpi image first. Then type your text. Check the Options bar and try the different anti-aliasing methods (sharp, crisp, etc.). Also keep in mind that Photoshop is a pixel-based program. Word's type is vector based.
