Adobe Photoshop/Clearing a White Background on an Image
Expert: Huma Riaz - 3/2/2011
QuestionHi :)
I am not skilled in photoshop at all. I downloaded the free trial version of Photoshop Elements 9 but I don't know how to use it. I have a school logo that has a white box around it. All I want is to remove the white background so that when I put the logo onto a colored section, the only thing that shows is the logo itself and not a white box. How can I do this? Please keep in mind that I will need step by step instructions, lol. Thank you so much in advance! :)
Answerokay!
1. select Magic Wand tool (w)
2.select the white space (click on the white space around logo)
3. once you get the selection, Inverse it (Ctrl+Alt+I)
4. Now you have the Selection of your logo, fix the selection around the corner if it needs touching ( use lasso tool, it helps)
5. now inverse the selection again, (Ctrl+Alt+I)
delete the around white area, make sure you have the base layer as editable, (double click the background layer and change the mode)
I hope this will help, if not clear feel free to ask me again,
