Adobe Photoshop/Blending images in

Hi Kamal, my name is Scott, pleased to meet you.

I need help with techniques to blend in images with other images (or backgrounds). I am finding it really hard to get a good result. I only do digital artwork for a hobby, but I would like to improve on this.

I don't actually use Photoshop. I use Gimp; the free software that you can download off of the internet.

I understand it might be hard to teach me over one e-mail, but could you try, or perhaps you know a good website that can help.

I have attached an image of a piece of work that I am doing. Focus on the picture of the woman. She doesn't look very blended in to me. I would like her to look like she's properly in the picture. The artistic cartoon filter I feel as helped slightly in making her blend in, but it is still not enough for me to be satisfied.

Hope you can help!

Thanks in advance,
