Adobe Photoshop/PhotoshopCS5 "Paths"

Hi Kevin,

I'm fairly new/beginner with Photoshop and have the following question:

When I click on "paths", nothing is coming up in the screen/box. How do I change that?

- I"m using CS5

- The Path setting I'm targeting is the one in conjunction (next too)Channels and Layers.

- Through a tutorial, it noted that what was suppose to come up was: "Make Work Path" and then the option to set my "Tolerance"level.

* I started this over multiple times (using clean fresh files each time)

* Initially was using a PNG file (by placing it in the background layer) and then eventually changed my PNG into a PSD (each time I tried a new strategy, I did start the over)... but still didn't work.

* Rasterized Layer

At a lost for what to do....

Thank you for your thoughts in advance.

Hi Susan

The Paths Panel is supposed to be empty until you use the Pen Tool to create a path which will then show up automatically as a "Work Path". Here is a link explaining how this process. When viewing tutorials, be sure to check the experience level noted (if there is one) to be sure they are not making assumptions based on experience. It sounds like you were viewing a higher-level tutorial than where you need to be right now.
