I need to batch convert pdfs pages to jpgs or better yet to Power point slides.

Great.  
So your question would be how to do this? yes?

open a pdf in photoshop
go to window, actions
make a new action (same way as a layer)
it's recording
go to file, save as
save as a jpeg
close
don't save
stop your recording

make a new folder on your desktop, name it

in photoshop
go to file, automate, batch
under source, click the folder with the pdfs
choose your  you action
in destination folder, choose the one you made
press ok.
enjoy the show

powerpoint, not possible, wish it was. But if you have Keynote, you can import pdfs, and then can skip the whole pdf to jpeg ordeal.
