Adobe Photoshop/Bounding box

Question
Dear friend,
A simple question. I used to use Photoshop's Bounding Box perfectly, but now that
I reinstalled the program, when I try using the keyboard arrows in order to resize
an image selection, the numbers wouldn't increase or decrease (as before),
if you know what I mean. A Photoshop problem, keyboard configuration?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Best,
Chelo

Answer
Hi Chelo,

I need more information from you before I answer this -- mainly, what version of Photoshop are you using?

However -- I can tell you now that in CS, no, you won't be able to use the arrow keys to resize a selection. But once you have an item selected with the marquee tool, you *can* use the arrow keys to move that selection, but not resize it.

So please post back and tell me what version of Photoshop you're using, and also -- more importantly -- what exactlly are you trying to resize? A text box, or a selection from an image? Are you using one of the marquee tools, or are you talking about resizing a text box?

Expertise

I've used Photoshop since the release of version 2. I taught college commercial art and graphic design for 10 years, and within that realm, taught Photoshop at every level, and with each successive product upgrade. My experience with Photoshop is thus extensive and well-rounded, from photo retouching to color adjustment to incorporating Photoshop and ImageReady into Web design. I am primarily a Mac user (since 1985), but am also PC-savvy.

Experience

I've been a graphic designer for 22 years, was a national magazine art director, a designer for the Department of Defense, a college art instructor, and have my own freelance Web and graphic design business, LittleWorks (www.little-works.com). I've also worked for several printing companies, in both prepress and art.

Awards and Honors
PICA award (Printing Industry of the Carolinas Award for the design of a media kit that accompanied a magazine I was art directing at the time)
